WelcomeThe Nebraska State Athletic Trainers' Association (NSATA) of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) is committed to addressing the needs and concerns of NATA members in the State of Nebraska; Providing public awareness of health issues for the physically active; Developing an alliance with other organizations with an interest in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. The NSATA is dedicated to providing exemplary leadership in the various components of Athletic Training while positioning itself to be the benchmark association of the NATA.
Officer Elections and AwardsThe Nominations Committee is requesting
nominations from the membership for the following NSATA elected
offices: President, Vice-President, and Secretary and
Treasurer. Each officer shall be elected to a two-year
term. Athletic Trainer of the Year Award Nominations for the George F. Sullivan Athletic Trainer of the Year Award are also being accepted. This honor is awarded to the AT who, over the past year, has gone above and beyond the call of duty in promoting and improving our profession, all while performing their normal duties as athletic trainer. Please nominate one NSATA member for the award and enclose a brief statement describing why this person is deserving of the honor. ATs may receive this award more than once. Years of Service Recognition Athletic Trainers are recognized for 10, 20
and 25 years of service to the profession of Athletic Training in
Nebraska. Criteria for this award/recognition is as
follows:
- Must be in good standing with the NATA.
- Must be licensed by the State of Nebraska.
- Must be a member of the NSATA.
- May be working in any setting (Clinical, Industrial, Traditional)
in Nebraska. 10 years: Jennifer Hudson-Carda, Jamie
Jazwick, Douglas B. Jones, Aaron J. Madsen, Alex Schnitzer,
Michael Sloup and Duane Wade 20 years: Kris Johnk,
Chad Karcher, Stacy Kersten, Michael Livergood and Tom Reilly 25 years: Julie Buck, Dodd Cox,
Thomas Frette, Pat Liebsack, Mary Robotham and Brad Siebler

Attention Nebraska ATEP Athletic Training Students! The NSATA/NOH scholarships are now available. Download the criteria and application here. Return it to Scholarship Committee Chairman, Drew Erks by February 10, 2012.
Also note MAATA undergraduate and graduate scholarships are now available and the NATA Foundation is also accepting scholarship applications. NATA Foundation scholarship winners receive $2,300; applications are due February 6, 2012.

Concussion Awareness Act Implementation
The Nebraska State Athletic
Trainers’ Association (NSATA), has forged a relationship with
Sport Safety
International; , a medical consulting firm that specializes in
providing expert advice in the area of sport safety and injury
prevention, to help introduce “Concussion Wise™” an online
concussion education program designed for athletic trainers,
coaches, parents, athletes and other health care professionals. The
30 minute self paced program is available now-FREE
for athletes, parents and coaches.
