Kirk S. Hutton, M.D.
Dr. Kirk Hutton is an orthopaedic surgeon at OrthoNebraska in Omaha, Nebraska. He sees not only athletes with sports injuries, but also any type of musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Hutton is also a specialist in diagnosing and treating shoulder problems. He can treat patients from minor sprains to those needing total joint replacements. He is on staff at several major Omaha hospitals that include OrthoNebraska, Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Methodist Hospital.
He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He went on to complete an Orthopaedic Residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship with the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado.
While in Colorado, Dr. Hutton assisted with the NFL Denver Broncos and participated in the care of other professional athletes. He has been a team orthopedist for the U.S. Olympic Ski Team as well as for Dana College and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also covered many local high schools and is currently the team orthopedist for the Omaha Lancers Hockey Team.
Dr. Hutton is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also holds membership in several professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Omaha Mid-West Clinical Society.
He has authored several published articles in various medical journals as well as book chapters including but not limited to, The Team Physican’s Handbook, Orthopaedic Secrets and Sports Medicine Secrets.
