Danielle Kleber, ATC

Originally from Grand Island, Danielle earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She attended the University of Nebraska Omaha where she worked as a graduate assistant. Here she met many life-long friends, including husband Bill, also an athletic trainer. She served many sports, but most notably earned a National Championship with the 2001 softball team.

Danielle began her career at Lincoln Northeast High School, serving a calling to care for student-athletes. She proudly followed the career path of the person who inspired her to pursue athletic training, her high school athletic trainer Dodd Cox. During this time she helped grow the Omaha Sports Medicine to become a thriving organization. From there, she helped grow Athletes’ Training Center from concept to a thriving business, as well as created several local groups with a focus on inter-professional collaboration.

During her time at UNK, it was instilled in students to become active members of the athletic training profession. She has held service positions at all levels, including the roles of Treasurer, President and Past President for the NSATA, MAATA D5 Treasurer, and she has served on the NATA State Association Advisory Committee. Danielle was awarded the NSATA George F. Sullivan Athletic Trainer of the Year award in 2007 and the NATA Athletic Training Service Award in 2018.

She has enjoyed mentoring countless students and young professionals. Watching them grow through the profession and serve in volunteer roles gives her great pride. She is also grateful for the support of her family, her husband Bill, and daughter Ruby. They have made it possible for her to pursue her passion for athletic training.
