The NSATA Pillar of Athletic Training Award is presented to a Nebraska Athletic Trainer who has served as a cornerstone of the profession, demonstrating exceptional service and dedication over their career. Award recipients have shaped the future of Athletic Training in Nebraska through their advocacy, mentorship, and lasting contributions to patient care, professional organizations, and community outreach.

All required items, including the letters of recommendation and professional head shot photo will need to be attached to submit the form.

Nominations will be accepted from Monday, March 2nd, 2026 to 11:59 pm CDT on Sunday, March 29th, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must hold current or retired NE state license in Athletic Training
- Must maintain current or retired NSATA/NATA membership
- Must not have earned NSATA Hall of Fame recognition within the past 15 years
- Must hold current or retired BOC Certification
- Majority (greater than 75%) of career practicing athletic training as primary employment
Qualifying Contributions:
- Special projects that benefit the athletic training profession or career
- Serving as a liaison to allied groups with significant outcomes that have positively impacted athletic trainers, athletes, allied healthcare professionals, and stakeholders
- Participated in or led revenue-generating efforts that benefit the NSATA, MAATA, NATA athletic training community
- Establishment of programs aimed at improving healthcare for patients in Nebraska
- Special projects for the NSATA, other associations or related groups
- Honors and awards at employer level or within professional associations
- Research in physical, mental, or emotional health of patients or sports medicine advancements
- Other significant service contributions deemed significant by the Honors, Awards, Nominations & Memorial Resolution Committee or NSATA Executive Board
Who Can Nominate?
Nominations may be submitted by NSATA members, non-NSATA members, coaches, co-workers, colleagues, or other individuals familiar with the nominee’s contributions.
Nomination Process:
- Complete online nomination form (link above)
- Submit nomination letter
- Submit three (3) letters of recommendation from separate individuals/entities (fellow AT, colleague, co-worker, athletic director, team physician, parent, athlete, etc.)
- Submit nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
- Submit nominee’s headshot photo
