Learning Objectives

Define and describe primary types of Sports Psychologists.
Identify specific strategies an AT can implement while fulfilling their role as an AT.
Explain the gravity of their impact on student-athletes’ mental “game” and wellness.

Program Description

Dr. Fritson’s presentation will offer basic understanding of what Sports Psychology is and what services Sports Psychologists offer. There will be educational training and open discussion, as desired for participants, for participants to ask questions and explore specific strategies AT’s can use in the training room and/or athletic venue to promote athletes’ mental wellness related to their sport. AT’s will leave recognizing techniques they might use with athletes and the significant role AT’s play in the success of student-athletes.

Krista Fritson, PsyD

The target audience for this conference is certified athletic trainers, allied health care professionals and athletic training students.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY

The NSATA Summer Education Conference program includes Essential and Advanced level sessions.

The Nebraska State Athletic Trainers’ Association is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers.

STATEMENT OF CREDIT

Statements of Credit will be provided electronically after to the conference to each attendee who completes the following:
